Offering hospitality to "the stranger" or to one's family is a central aspect of most religious traditions. My pottery can aid in offering concrete acts of caring and nurture because it is food safe, unique, made with loving care, has an intended purpose, and can be lovingly customized in shape, color, design, words and glazes (as shown below: white, grape, hunter green, celadon (light green), paprika (pink-beige), antique iron, and galaxy (dark blue). Unless otherwise specified, my functional pottery is fired to cone 6 (2200 degrees), which is durable enough to use in the oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Low fire glazes, with hand-painted images and carvings and custom colors (like red and yellow), are also available.
